The original ND-138G stylus had a recommended tracking force of 2.5 g, and our replacements are designed to closely match this specification.
The VL-38 / ND-138G combination was commonly found on early 1980s Sony turntables such as the Sony PS-LX1, PS-150, PS-252 and PS-350 record players made in the early 1980's.
The VL-38 cartridge with ND-138G stylus is in fact a rebranded Audio Technica AT-3400 / ATN-3400, distinguished by its red stylus grip. If you're looking for additional options, we recommend visiting our ATN-3400 page as well.
